The Colorado Springs Gazette App Reviews

Fix the Da** app!

For the love of god STOP sending sports alerts out 15-20 times a day! I dont want any sports alerts pushes and i dont have any checked but that is mostly what I receive. Your app went from terrible to pitiful with this update!

Great local app

Lots of information and easy to use!

Great for local news

Works flawlessly and am happy to see local newspaper make the jump to mobile

Not really free

Not really a completely free app. Users only allowed access to certain number of stories per month. Its understandable that all sections might not be available to online readers, but I have not seen these kind of restrictions on any of my other news apps.

Deleted

after the forced registration.

No way

Understandable to pay for some features but to register for more than 4 stories a month. Nope, deleted.

Deleted

Deleted the app after forced registration.

Deleted :(

Forced registration to read more than 4 articles a month?! Well, it was a good app prior to that. Deleted.

Used to love it

Not worth the time. Only allowed 4 news stories per month. Want more pay more for what??? Make a reasonable in-app purchase option. Deleted and found a new love.

Ridiculous

Deleted. Forced registration to read articles?

Only 4 news articles per month.....lame

Ill just switch to krdo news app. Sorry Gazette app, deleted.

Not a good app, they are greedy with only 4 articles

You only get four articles per month. Sorry this is not cool. One less reader here, but does the gazette even care? DELETED the app now.

Dont bother with the Gazette app, you cant read the stories anyway.

Before the update they would let you read all stories with ads. You now only get four news articles a month. Just use a local news station app like KRDO or News first 5. Bye Gazette, Deleted.

Junk

There are far better apps that you can get to view news in Colorado Springs. If I have to leave one star Im really over rating this app.

Pretty Good App.

The Gazette recently initiated a pay wall that only allows subscribers unlimited access to the most popular stories or opinion pieces. While I prefer my news free, I believe that a subscription is well worth the cost for in depth local reporting. The only complaint I have is that the reporters blogs are not available or at least I have not been able to find them on the app. Anyway, good reporting and in-depth reporting is worth the price. It costs money to produce the stories so I do not mind paying the price.

Awful

Dont bother with this app. It is horrible. Only 4 articles a month is ridiculous and annoying.

Used to be good

I used to turn to this app regularly to get COS news. Now that you can only view 4 stories I almost never use it anymore. Ridiculous!!!! Unless it changes back soon to non-subscription its useless and Ill probably delete it from my phone. The local TV apps are more useful now!

Alerts on this new app didnt work for a while, but now they do.

I used to get the alerts that I subscribed to on the iPad, but when I swiped the alert, the Gazette app opened to a page that said "No Alerts, Tap +Topics to Subcribe to alerts". I thought that the intent was that swiping or tapping the alert should take me directly to the story rather than to this bogus message. Well, now when I swipe the alert, Im taken by the Gazette app to a page of my alerts. I tap the alert and it takes me to the story. Nice. Thanks.

Gazette App is... ... OK

Got it; I have to buy a subscription. I did. I understand the need to log in. Why must I have to log out to log in? Why must the app be so clunky when it comes to me logging in? Dont make me log in then present to me a popup with choices of where I want to go in the app; TAKE ME TO THE HOME PAGE! Ill find the article the app gagged on prompting me to log in. And DO NOT throw down on me with a popup after I read my four articles while logged in telling me there is a problem with my account. The problem is a clunky app!

Disappointing

Only lets you read 4 stories before having to purchase a subscription. Deleting the app.
