I really like the news updates in my iPhone notifications. I receive the print version at home, but when I am away, usually the last few days news in the recycle bin. Sometimes my in-laws whom are visiting consume the newspaper also.

This is a really great app every one should have

Very slow and crashes before I can get through a single article. [Running on an older iPad 2 but with up-to-date ios release -- maybe they only test on newer models?]

Great that I win some amazing prize every time I open the app. Then it decides I need to download an app of their choosing.

...and intrusive advertisements which make the using the app to read anything more than headlines worthless.

Constant redirects to spam & unwanted App Store apps.

Ive been trying to follow the Gazette for a few years, but I give up. There are constant freezes after load up. And of course, one gets the constant reminders of "your final free article" of the month. Gag.

I enjoy the content, but, the app consistently crashes. This issue needs to be addressed. The speed is fine.

News content is fine, unfortunately it is constantly interrupted by pop ups and ads on the mobile app. Active duty member utilizing the free access who is constantly blocked. Very annoying.

It seems that this version has gone from bad to worse, there are times that it just doesnt want to even open up or rather takes forever to open!

This version wastes space on the screen when I try to use the digital image view, making the full page view too small to easily scan read, and displaying too little content when zoomed in to read it better. Clicking on stories or returning to the full page edition causes it to crash half as often as not. Also I have turned off all notification alerts for the Gazette because I keep getting annoying alerts for such riveting topics as "dog bites man" from calcutta. But I keep getting these pointless alerts.

Ok app when it works. Can be very slow. Sometimes it seems to get stuck trying to open and Ive had to delete and reinstall to fix it.

Slow to load and above all else, I would really appreciate the ability to load up the whole paper and view offline (for reading during flights)!

Out of all of my many Apps this is clearly the worst. I have contacted the Gazette and even threatened to end a decades long subscription. They obviously dont care and pay no attention to reader reviews. I dont need to reiterate what others have already written. Its all true. The incompetence of the people who have built this app is unparalleled.

Not a good app. Shuts down each time I try to look at individual news stories. Dont bother until they fix. Wastes your time with how slow it is.

And by old news, I mean articles from 3-4 years ago. Why are they on this app?

Lots of bugs, has news articles from 2-4 yrs ago. Not very stable. Dont waste your time. The app has been like this for a long time.

New version update: Loaded up the update. Started it. Now Im looking at 6 large empty boxes on the screen that all say "(null)". The ad banner at the bottom of the screen updates every few seconds, though. Bottom line: It got worse. Im not sure you can get any worse. First, the stories are barely whats available through RSS feeds. This app has nothing to do with the paper. Second, technical execution is beyond bad. Many stories, when selected, will only go to white screen (i.e. wont load??? or display?). Tapping around may or may not make the story text appear. Quite a few stories, when selected on the left by headline, will only display the headline in the text area on the right. In other words, there is no story beyond the headline. Then, text on the right side often overwrites other text and/or pictures, making the text unreadable. Sometimes, turning the iPad from portrait to landscape (or vice versa) fixes the problem, sometimes it persists. This is just the text portion of this news app. Can you believe the customer service is on about the same level?

Shows stories on home page that are 5 months old. And this is supposed to replace the printed version? Cmon Gazette put a real developer on this! They have placed ads that have bugs and slithery things constantly moving across the screen. Nice. A good reason to delete this app.
